Vancouver week two: Stanley Park, getting things together

Things are getting a bit more Real Life - I'm over my jet lag and I've been looking for places to live and a job. Boring, but necessary things that have brought me down to earth a bit.

I got a new phone because I'm waiting on O2 to unlock my iPhone, and just look at this baby:

I know you're jealous

I also met up with my future flatmate, and we're going to look at some apartments tomorrow - which I'm fairly sure will be another thing to make everything more real.

Friday was my first night out in Vancouver, meeting one of my online friends. We went to a London themed pub - which was rather North American, actually, but it had a tasty London pale ale so I can't complain too much. I had a great time and some really tasty chips, and I didn't even get too drunk (at $4.50/pint and no job, that may be why...).

One day, since the weather was so nice, I decided to go out to Stanley Park. According to Wikipedia, "Stanley Park is a 404.9 hectare (1,001 acre) urban park" so, you know, it's kind of big.

Vancouver week one: Downtown, Granville Island, Kitsilano

So I've been in Canada for two weeks. I'm getting a bit more on top of things - I'm over my jetlag and looking for jobs/places to live, although the feeling of being on holiday still hasn't faded. Now that I'm spending more time at the flat rather than wandering around Downtown (too easy to spend money!) I guess it'll fade soon enough though...
One of the things I've been spending money on. They're amazing!

Travels so far

The reason for me starting this blog is to chronicle my move to Canada from the UK, and all the travels I make while I'm here in the Pacific Northwest. I've been here less than a week so far, so there isn't much to tell yet.

Instead I'll make my first post a chronicle of some of my recent travels - in the form of photos, because a picture is worth a thousand words (and nothing to do with laziness, not at all!).

Since there's a lot, more after the jump!
